Branding, Laurels & Promotional Use

1. Purpose This policy sets out how Festival branding, laurels, and promotional materials may be used by filmmakers, partners, press, and third parties. It exists to:
    • Protect the Festival’s identity and reputation
    • Ensure accurate and fair representation
    • Prevent misuse or misleading claims
2. Scope This policy applies to:
    • Entrants and filmmakers
    • Award nominees and winners
    • Partners and sponsors
    • Press, media, and content creators
    • Any third party referencing the Festival
It covers:
    • Festival names and titles
    • Logos and visual assets
    • Official laurels
    • Promotional wording and references
3. Ownership of Branding All Festival branding, including:
    • Names and titles
    • Logos and visual identity
    • Official laurels
    • Design assets and graphics
remain the exclusive property of Glowflare Limited. No ownership rights are transferred through participation. 4. Use of Official Laurels 4.1 Eligibility Only films that have received official recognition may use Festival laurels, including:
    • Official Selection
    • Nominee / Nominated
    • Winner
    • Special Mention (if applicable)
4.2 Rules for Use Laurels:
    • Must not be altered, redesigned, or recoloured
    • May only be resized proportionally
    • Must relate only to the recognised film
    • Must not imply additional awards or endorsements
Unauthorised or misleading use may result in corrective action. 5. Use of Festival Logos Festival logos may only be used with written permission. Logos must not be:
    • Altered or distorted
    • Used to imply partnership or sponsorship without approval
    • Placed alongside inappropriate or misleading content
    • Used on merchandise without agreement
6. Promotional Use by the Festival By submitting a film, entrants grant the Festival a limited, non-exclusive licence to use submitted promotional materials such as:
    • Stills
    • Posters
    • Trailers or clips
    • Film descriptions and credits
These may be used for:
    • Festival programmes
    • Press and media promotion
    • Website and social media
    • Archival and historical records
Materials will not be sold or commercially licensed without further consent. 7. Press & Media Use Accredited press and media may use Festival branding and materials only:
    • For editorial coverage of the Festival
    • In accordance with this policy
    • Without alteration or misrepresentation
Use outside editorial coverage requires permission. 8. Misuse & Misrepresentation Misuse includes:
    • Claiming selection, nomination, or awards not received
    • Altering logos or laurels
    • Creating unofficial or misleading branding
    • Using Festival branding to damage reputation
The Festival may take action including:
    • Requesting removal or correction
    • Revoking awards or recognition
    • Removing access or accreditation
    • Legal action where appropriate
9. Third-Party & Partner Branding Partners and sponsors may use Festival branding only:
    • As agreed in writing
    • Within defined timeframes
    • In approved formats
Unauthorised third-party use is prohibited. 10. Reporting Misuse Suspected misuse of branding or laurels should be reported to Festival management. Reports will be reviewed fairly and proportionately. 11. Amendments This policy may be updated at any time. 12. Acceptance Use of Festival branding or laurels constitutes acceptance of this Branding, Laurels & Promotional Use Policy.
