Candy

After being released from an asylum, a troubled teenager struggles to maintain his grip on reality when the medication he depends on suddenly disappears.

Runtime: 16:03

Synopsis

Candy follows a teenage boy attempting to rebuild his life after being discharged from a psychiatric institution. Returning home under the watchful eye of his mother, he faces the difficult challenge of adjusting to a world that feels both familiar and unsettlingly different. As tensions within the household begin to surface and the support he relies upon becomes increasingly uncertain, his fragile sense of stability starts to unravel, blurring the line between perception and reality.

Combining psychological horror with an intimate character study, Candy explores themes of mental illness, dependency, and the complexities of familial protection. Through an atmosphere of mounting unease, the film examines how fear, isolation, and mistrust can distort both relationships and self-perception. As reality becomes increasingly difficult to navigate, Candy invites audiences into a deeply personal struggle where the greatest threat may lie not in the world outside, but within the mind itself.
